We are doing our best to change the perceptions of legislators, decision makers, homeowners, and business-owners alike to get more solar technology on roofs. Our activities include educating our readers about their local subsidies and solar related legislation, as well as connecting them to solar installers in their areas to make their dream of renewable energy a reality.
With a total score of 426 out of 600, the fifth place goes to Solar Galaxy. Solar Galaxy is on a mission to turn their customers’ solar power dreams into reality. Solar cells have many applications. They have long been used in situations where electrical power from the grid is unavailable, such as in remote area power systems, Earth-orbiting satellites and space probes, consumer systems, e.g. handheld calculators or wrist watches, remote radiotelephones and water pumping applications. A large no. of solar cells are combined in an arrangement called solar cell panel that can deliver enough electricity for practical use. Electricity produced by solar panels can be stored in rechargeable solar batteries, which is then drawn upon when required.
We built our solar-powered home on a shoestring budget, but in the end we had a super energy-efficient home that was warm in winter (where it can get 10-15 degrees below zero), and cool in summer. We had plenty of room and plenty of power for gadgets and appliances. We felt rich, blessed. But the real wealth was independence. We’ve been lucky to work for ourselves, towards our own goals.
